Best of Emerald Isle in 10 Days
Tonight we begin our Irish journey as we board our wide bodied jet bound for the Emerald Isle. Enjoy dinner and a movie on board. You will awake to a your first glimpse of Ireland’s 50 shades of green!!
Day 2 - Arrive Shannon
Cead Mile Failte! One hundred thousand welcomes!!! Upon clearing customs, you will be met by your Irish tour director and escorted to your deluxe motor coach. En route to your hotel, you will be introduced to Limerick City, home of the popular novel, Angela’s Ashes. Along the way, plan for your first taste of the Emerald Isle with a full Irish breakfast as we get on the road. Later today we visit the Bunratty Folk Park where you will be taken back in time to the 15th century. Enjoy some time to stroll around the Park and perhaps sample a pint at Durty Nelly’s. Enjoy a welcome reception to meet your fellow travelers before this evening’s activities.Tonight we turn back the hands of time to attend a medieval banquet at 15th century Bunratty Castle. Sit back and relax as the ladies of the castle regale you with their angelic voices. (Breakfast, Dinner)

Day 3 - Shannon – Galway
After breakfast this morning, we depart for Galway, The City of the Tribes. Our first stop will be at the majestic Cliffs of Moher which rise more than 700 feet above the Atlantic and span nearly 5 miles long. It is a spectacular sight!!!!.Continue through The Burren, from the Gaelic word Boireann is an area of limestone rock covering imposing majestic mountains, and tranquil valleys with gently meandering streams. With its innate sense of spiritual peace, extraordinary array of flora and wildlife, and megalithic tombs and monuments older than Egypt's pyramids, the Burren creates a tapestry of colour and a seductively magical aura which few people leave without wanting to experience again. After a few hours rest, enjoy a relaxing dinner at the hotel. (Breakfast, Dinner)

Day 4 - Galway - Connemara & Kylemore Abbey
This morning after a full Irish breakfast, we explore the rugged yet serene Connemara area which John Wayne and Maureen O'Hara made famous in the classic movie "A Quiet Man". This rocky land of broad-backed mountains and pearl-like lakes is the largest Irish speaking section of the country and the old traditions and way of life are as much a part of Connemara's attractions as is the scenery. We drive along the shores of Lough Corrib and then westward through Maam Cross to Leenane and Kylemore. Here we shall visit Kylemore Abbey, the only Irish home of the Benedictine Nuns. Built originally as a Castle it is one of the best examples of Irish neo-gothic architecture. The estate features include a Victorian Walled Garden, restored Abbey reception rooms, Gothic Church, tranquil walks, craft shop, pottery, and restaurant. We'll return to Galway via the village of Spiddal where we visit the newly re-designed Standun's Irish store.

Day 5 - Galway - Knock – Dublin
We depart Galway this morning and head to Dublin’s fair city. En route we will stop at Knock Shrine and Basilica. In August of 1879 there was a report from two village women that they had seen three figures, appear Mary, Joseph and St. John. Many miraculous cures have been reported since. We continue on to Dublin, our home away from home for the next two nights. You will have time to rest for a while or explore the city before we gather for dinner this evening.

Day 6 - Dublin City/Free Afternoon
This morning we depart on a tour of Dublin’s Fair City. Known for its neo-classical buildings and elegant Georgian terraces, Dublin has become a very cosmopolitan city.Our first visit will be St. Patrick’s Cathedral where according to tradition, religious converts were baptized by St. Patrick in the 5th century.We continue on to Trinity College and the Book of Kells where you can see the ancient manuscript of the four gospels in Latin on vellum which was produced circa 800.The remainder of the day is free to discover Dublin on your own. Your tour director will be happy to arrange dinner and entertainment for you (Optional extra) at one of Ireland's Famed Cabaret shows.

Day 7 - Dublin – Kilkenny - Cork
After breakfast this morning we depart Dublin and drive south to Co. Cork. Our tour will take us through the medieval city of Kilkenny. The rich medieval heritage is evident in the city's treasure trove of historical buildings and landmarks, exemplified by the magnificent Kilkenny Castle. Kilkenny is arguably the pre-eminent medieval city in Ireland, with the current layout of the city clearly grounded in the city's medieval roots.In the afternoon we continue south to the Cork City where we take a short panoramic sightseeing tour of Ireland's second largest city. Build on a marsh, the city proper is inter-laced with a winding canal and river giving it a distinctly European air. The River Lee divides the city in two and is lined with architectural development that incorporates the best of old and new. Cork has recently been named as one of the top ten destinations in the world. The highlights of the city include the City Hall, The Grand Parade and St. Finbar's Cathedral. Dinner this evening is at our Hotel.

Day 8 - Cork – Killarney
Today we continue our tour in Cork before we head off for the “Kingdom of Kerry”. Our first stop is at the historic town of Cobh. Here we visit the Cobh Heritage Centre which recalls the days when Cobh was a great port. Many of our ancestors emigrated from this port of call and it was the last stop for the Titanic before its untimely tragedy.We travel through the Irish countryside to the famous fishing village of Kinsale. For centuries, Kinsale has been a haven from the sea for travelers and traders alike. Their influence has made Kinsale the most cosmopolitan and charming of ports in Ireland. But where Britons, Spaniards and Irish once fought, yachts now disgorge their sailors to sample "fruits de mer" in the old world atmosphere of Ireland's Gourmet Capital. We arrive in Killarney in the afternoon. Dinner is at our hotel in the evening.

Day 9 - Killarney & The Ring of Kerry
After a leisurely breakfast at our hotel, we depart on the most scenic drives in all of Ireland, around the famed "Ring of Kerry". As we head along the coastline of the Iveragh Peninsula through the towns of Glenbeigh, Cahirciveen, Waterville and Sneem sit back, relax and enjoy the spectacular views as we circle the mountainous MacGillycuddy Reeks. We complete the tour via the Ladies View back to Killarney. This is Ireland as you have always imagined it!We return to Killarney in the late afternoon where you are free for the rest of the day to enjoy the wonderful lively town of Killarney with its many options for dinner and entertainment on your doorstep.

We bid farewell to the “Kingdom of Kerry” this morning as we begin our journey home. There will be ample time for shopping at the Duty Free Store before boarding your flights taking with you fond remembrances of your memorable trip to the Emerald Isle
