Driver must hold a current driving licence valid for at least 1 year. You must also be between 25 – 75 years old. Young drivers can be accommodated at an extra charge if currently holding a driver license.

To assist you in mapping out your travel plans, we have partnered with The Hertz Corporation. We will work with you to arrange the perfect car rental. Thus enabling you to embark on a self-driving tour. You can choose from a wide selection of Hertz cars. If you require a sat. nav. we can book this directly with Hertz Car Rental. You will pay for your sat. nav. upon collection at the Hertz office.

All our tours are flexible – you can choose your own type of accommodation ranging from B&B’s, Hotels, or alternatively, Castles. However, for that authentic Irish experience, we always recommend a good mix of each. You can also upgrade to a larger vehicle if the vehicle quoted is not suitable for the size of your group.

Reducing Our Carbon Footprint

At Brack Tours, we always have concerns regarding environment and how our tours affect destinations we visit. As such, we are always seeking new, innovative ways of reducing our carbon footprint. Similarly, when planning a self-drive tour of Ireland we always consider this factor. We therefore take into consideration which days you will not need your vehicle.

For example, we recommend that you do not have a car while in Dublin City. This will, consequently, reduce your carbon footprint. Moreover, we recommend that you take walking tours, open bus tours and that you try to use public transport while in the City. There may also be cases, in which you may not require the car. This could be, for example, a day trip along the Ring of Kerry, on board a scheduled bus tour. As oppose to your self-drive vehicle.
