Car Rental

Arnold Clark

To assist you in mapping out your travel plans, we have partnered with Arnold Clark Car & Van Rental. We will work with you to arrange the perfect car rental. Thus enabling you to embark on a self-driving tour. You can choose from a wide selection of Arnold Clark cars ranging from small economy cars to large MPV’s (Mini Vans).

Additional extras such as sat nav can be booked by us directly with Arnold Clark. You will then pay for your sat nav upon collection at the Arnold Clark office at your designated location.

What is Included:

  • Insurance

    The price you pay for your hire vehicle includes insurance as standard. However, you are able to purchase an excess waiver to avoid being charged if any damage to the vehicle occurs.

  • Roadside assistance

    In the unlikely event of a breakdown or accident, you can call the phone number provided on your keyring for assistance.

  • 250 miles free per day

    You will be given 250 miles free per day for all hires under 4 days. If you hire for 4 or more days, you will be given unlimited mileage.

  • Pick up and drop offs

    We aim to make your journey as seamless as possible. This is why some of our branches offer free pick-ups and drop-offs from local train and bus stations. Contact your branch for more details.

  • One way hire

    You can also drop off your hire car at another one of our branches. Please request this at time of booking.

  • A choice of add-ons

    We also offer a range of add-ons you can purchase, including baby and child seats from as little as £1, sat navs and additional drivers.

Terms of Use:

Normal terms and conditions of rental apply at all times. All rates include VAT & insurance and are subject to availability. Despite the purchase of insurance, an excess will be charged for any vehicle damage. Insurance cover is for UK mainland only unless clearance is granted prior to rental. Rate reductions are available for renters providing their own insurance cover (please ask for details). Rates include breakdown recovery.


Drivers must be aged 23 years or over. Drivers aged 23–24 can hire up to a standard group car or a group B van. Drivers aged 25 or over can hire our PG group vehicle and all other vehicle groups. For drivers aged 23–24 a young driver supplement of £20 per day will be chargeable at all branches and will be required when booking online. Drivers over 75 will be asked to provide medical proof that they are fit to drive.

EU and International Drivers

EU licence holders not residing in the UK must bring a domestic driving licence and either a passport or ID card.

EU licence holders who are residents in the UK must bring with them a domestic licence, passport or ID card and proof of UK address. This can be two bills or one bill and another form of photographic identification, preferably a passport. We also accept utility bills and bank or credit card statements that have been issued in the last three months.

Drivers from outside the EU must possess a valid domestic driving licence with an English translation. If the English translation is not available, an international driving permit is required in addition to a domestic driving licence.

A passport must also accompany a domestic driving licence.


All our rental vehicles run on either unleaded or diesel fuel. All vehicles will be supplied with a full tank of fuel. It is the customer’s responsibility to refill the vehicle at the end of the rental period. Fuel charges or fuel shortage will be charged at current pump prices plus a refilling surcharge. For 4-hour van rentals, fuel does not have to be replaced, fuel is charged at a per mileage rate depending on the size of van hired.

  • Day 1 - Overnight Flight to Scotland

    Dinner and refreshments will be served. You will awaken this morning to your first glimpse of Scotland.

  • Day 2 - Arrive Glasgow - Travel to Inveraray via Loch Lomond

    You begin your Scottish Self-drive adventure by firstly picking your car rental up at Glasgow Airport.

    From here you travel to the town of Inveraray which will be your touring base for the next two nights.

    Today you have a few options to explore you may choose to stay local and discover the sights around Inveraray or you may wish to drive along Loch Fyne and the Kintyre Peninsula

  • Day 4 - Inveraray to Fort William via Ben Nevis & Glencoe

    This morning you bid farewell to Inveraray and travel towards Fort William via the beautiful and scenic route of Glencoe.

  • Day 5 - Local Touring of Fort William, Fort Augustus & Loch Ness

    No visit to Scotland would be complete with visiting the famous Loch Ness and trying to capture a glimpse of the famous Nessie.

    It will be a fun-filled day of travelling along the beautiful shores of Loch Ness while also taking some famous sights along the way.

    You will now depart for the famed Isle of Skye leaving behind Fort William and the highlands.

    This scenic drive will have you travel along the shore of Loch Eil and you may even get a glimpse of the famed Glenfinnan Viaduct which was made famous in the Harry Potter Movies as the Hogwarts Express travelling along this Viaduct to take the students to Hogwarts.

  • Day 7 - Local Touring of The Isle of Skye

    A full day of exploring the Isle of Skye awaits as you depart your hotel this morning. From majestic views to ancient castles you are sure to find something to meet your interests.

    Leaving behind the rugged Isle of Skye you travel inwards towards the City of Inverness which is now known as the Captial of the Highlands.

    Your journey takes you via Kyle of Lochalsh here you may wish to visit Eilean Donan Castle.

  • Day 9 - Local Touring of Inverness

    Today you will have the opportunity to discover and explore Inverness and the surrounding areas.
