Fishers Hotel, Pitlochry
The hotel was originally built as a coaching inn by the highly regarded Butter family who was key promoters of the then infant Scottish tourist industry. She became known as “Fisher’s” after the colourful character Donald Fisher who ran the hotel from about 1853.
Mr. Fisher was evidently a charming personality who, in between farming shorthorn cattle and giving speeches, made the hotel famous and enticed the celebrities of Victorian Britain to visit.
